Hollywood legend Harrison Ford is set to shake up the Marvel Cinematic Universe in next year’s “Captain America: Brave New World.” But trading his fedora for gamma radiation isn’t just another day at the office for the iconic actor.

Ford, known for his roguish charm and dry wit, is stepping into the shoes (and eventually, the enormous red feet) of Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross. The character, previously portrayed by the late William Hurt, has climbed the ladder from military man to the Oval Office. But that’s not all – Comic-Con footage revealed Ford will be transforming into the menacing Red Hulk, a twist that required the 81-year-old star to embrace the world of motion capture.

When asked about the challenges of this high-tech performance, Ford’s response was pure, unfiltered Harrison: “What did it take? It took not caring. It took being an idiot for money, which I’ve done before.” But before fans could worry, he quickly added with a grin, “I don’t mean to disparage it. I’m just saying you have to do certain things that normally your mother would not want you to do — or your acting coach, if you had one.”
Despite his initial quips, Ford’s enthusiasm for the project shines through. “It’s fun, and I enjoyed it,” he admitted. “I had a great time, and I’m delighted at the response that we got with the trailer.”
This isn’t Ford’s first rodeo with cutting-edge visual effects. He recently faced off against his younger self in “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny,” proving that you can indeed teach an old dog new tricks – especially when that dog is Harrison Ford.

Co-star Anthony Mackie, who’s taking up the mantle of Captain America, couldn’t contain his excitement about working with the screen legend. “He’s Harrison fucking Ford,” Mackie gushed. “There is this aura about him. But he dispels that really quickly because he’s such a cool guy.” Mackie went on to reveal Ford’s onset catchphrase: “Let’s shoot this piece of shit.” Now that’s motivation, Marvel style!
When asked how the MCU compares to his other blockbuster franchises, Ford’s answer was pure poetry: “It’s a whole different cut of cloth, isn’t it? Free of some normal constraints to the imagination.”

Mark your calendars, true believers! “Captain America: Brave New World” smashes into theaters on February 12th, 2025. Will Harrison Ford’s Red Hulk be friend or foe? One thing’s for sure – it’s going to be one hell of a ride.
