Jeremy Renner is officially locked and loaded for his Marvel comeback. The “Hawkeye” star confirmed he’s eager to reprise his bow-wielding Avenger role, declaring himself “more than 150%” recovered from his devastating 2023 snowmobile accident.
Stronger Than Ever
“I’m sure we’ll end up doing Season 2 [of ‘Hawkeye’], and do other things. And I’m happy to do it,” Renner told Empire magazine. “My body’s getting ready for something like that. I don’t know if anybody wants to see me in tights, but my body will look good in the tights.”
The actor credits his intense focus on health and wellness for his remarkable recovery from injuries that included eight ribs broken in 14 places, shattered knees and ankles, and multiple other fractures.
“Having health and wellness be such a central part of my life, that’s what’s gotten me back,” he explained. “Even as I age, I just feel stronger than I’ve been. I have some issues, and tendon issues and certain limitations of flexibility and mobility, but I spent a lot of time on getting better and stronger.”
Marvel Drama Behind the Scenes
However, Renner’s return isn’t without controversy. In May, he revealed that Marvel offered him only “half” his original salary for “Hawkeye” Season 2, which he suspects was related to his accident.
“I’m like, ‘I’m sorry? Why? Did you think I’m only half the Jeremy because I got ran over? Maybe that’s why you want to pay me half of what I made on the first season,'” Renner said at the time.

Despite the pay dispute, the actor remains enthusiastic about returning to the MCU, whether for “Hawkeye” Season 2 or other Marvel projects.
Ready for Action
Renner’s determination to return showcases both his physical resilience and his deep connection to the Hawkeye character. After surviving what could have been a career-ending accident, he’s emerged stronger and more committed than ever to bringing Clint Barton back to screens.
“I’m always happy to be in that world, man. I love all those guys, I love the character,” Renner concluded.
With his recovery complete and his enthusiasm undimmed, fans can expect to see Hawkeye’s arrows flying again soon—assuming Marvel meets his asking price.
