Fans of The Office have a new mockumentary to look forward to—The Paper, from creators Greg Daniels and Michael Koman, is set in the same universe as the beloved NBC series. Premiering September 4 on Peacock, the show will debut with four episodes, followed by two new episodes every Thursday through September 25.

What’s ‘The Paper’ About?
The documentary crew that once followed the employees of Dunder Mifflin has found a new subject: The Truth Teller, a struggling historic newspaper in Toledo. Domhnall Gleeson stars as Ned Sampson, the optimistic new editor-in-chief trying to revive the publication—only to discover his staff has almost no journalism experience. (One employee cites their expertise as “writing a middle school term paper.”)

Adding a nostalgic touch, Oscar Nuñez reprises his role as Oscar Martinez, the former Dunder Mifflin accountant who is not thrilled to see the documentary crew again.

Meet the New Cast
Alongside Gleeson and Nuñez, The Paper introduces a fresh ensemble, including:
- Sabrina Impacciatore as Esmerelda (giving off Michael Scott vibes?)
- Chelsea Frei as Mare
- Melvin Gregg as Detrick
- Gbemisola Ikumelo as Adelola
- Alex Edelman as Adam
- Ramona Young as Nicole
- Tim Key as Ken
- Duane Shepard Sr. as Barry
- Eric Rahill as Travis

A Nod to ‘The Office’ Legacy
While The Paper stands on its own, longtime fans will enjoy spotting similarities to the original series—from awkward workplace dynamics to deadpan documentary-style humor.
