From epic blockbusters to intimate character dramas, the future of DC is vibrant and vast. Here is your essential guide to all 17 confirmed projects in production or in development.

Upcoming Movies:

Supergirl (June 26, 2026)

Get ready for a star-spanning epic that introduces a very different kind of Kryptonian. This film, starring Milly Alcock, will explore a jaded Kara Zor-El, who was raised on a fragment of the destroyed Krypton and witnessed unimaginable loss. Her story will provide a powerful contrast to her cousin Superman’s hopeful upbringing on Earth. Directed by Craig Gillespie, Supergirl is described as a massive science-fiction tale and will also feature Jason Momoa in a new role as the infamous interstellar bounty hunter, Lobo.

Clayface (September 11, 2026)

The DCU ventures into chilling new territory with this film. Clayface is a gripping body horror story about an up-and-coming actor whose face is disfigured, leading him to a desperate scientific solution that transforms his body into clay. With a tone compared to the classic film The Fly, this project promises to be a unique and haunting entry in the universe.

Man of Tomorrow (July 9, 2027)

The Superman saga continues in this next chapter, written and directed by James Gunn. Following the events of Superman and the second season of Peacemaker, this film will feature an unlikely dynamic: Superman and his archnemesis Lex Luthor being forced to work together against a much larger, cosmic threat. David Corenswet and Nicholas Hoult are expected to return, continuing the story of hope and heroism.

The Authority (Release Date TBA)

This film will introduce the morally complex WildStorm team, The Authority. This group of heroes believes the world is utterly broken and that they must take extreme measures—including killing and toppling governments—to fix it. Gunn has described it as a passion project, and it will have direct connections to the events of the Superman film.

The Brave and the Bold (Release Date TBA)

The DCU’s Batman will be introduced in this film, which focuses on the “strange father and son story” of Bruce Wayne and his biological son, Damian Wayne—the new Robin. Based on the popular comic run by Grant Morrison, it promises to explore the complex dynamics of the Bat-Family. Andy Muschietti is attached to direct.

Swamp Thing (Release Date TBA)

Acclaimed director James Mangold is bringing the iconic character to life in a Gothic horror film that will explore the “dark origins” of Swamp Thing. While tonally distinct, it will be interconnected with the wider universe, offering a chilling and mature story inspired by Alan Moore’s legendary comic book run.

Untitled Wonder Woman Film (Release Date TBA)

A new feature film starring Wonder Woman is in active development, separate from the Paradise Lost series. Ana Nogueira, who also penned Supergirl, is writing the screenplay, ensuring a fresh and compelling take on the Amazonian princess.

Untitled Teen Titans Film (Release Date TBA)

A film centered on the iconic teen superhero team is in the early stages of development. While initially in the works, it has been temporarily de-prioritized as the writer focuses on the Wonder Woman script.

Untitled Bane and Deathstroke Film (Release Date TBA)

A project featuring the formidable villains Bane and Deathstroke is in development, with Matthew Orton writing the screenplay. While the exact premise is being refined, it promises a deep dive into the DCU’s darker corners.

Sgt. Rock (Release Date TBA)

This film will be a World War II story featuring the classic character Sgt. Rock teaming up with a French resistance fighter to locate the powerful Spear of Destiny before the Nazis. The project is on a temporary hold as the creative team works to perfect the vision, but it remains a priority for the studio.

Upcoming Series:

Lanterns (Early 2026)

This HBO series is set to be a major event. Framed as a terrestrial detective story in the style of True DetectiveLanterns will feature Green Lanterns Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler) and John Stewart (Aaron Pierre) investigating an Earth-based mystery that is so significant, it will serve as a major plot thread for the entire DCU.

Booster Gold (Release Date TBA)

An “outright comedy” series is in development for HBO Max, following the adventures of a washed-up athlete from the 25th century who travels back in time to pose as a superhero. The project is progressing with a new showrunner at the helm.

Waller (Release Date TBA)

Viola Davis returns as the formidable Amanda Waller in this live-action series, which continues the story of her and Team Peacemaker. Set after the events of Peacemaker Season 2, the show will delve deeper into the shadowy world of government operations.

Paradise Lost (Release Date TBA)

This HBO series is a political drama set on the all-female island of Themyscira, decades before the birth of Wonder Woman. Pitched as a story of scheming and power struggles akin to Game of Thrones, it will explore the rich history of the Amazons.

Untitled Blue Beetle Series (Release Date TBA)

An animated series focusing on Jaime Reyes / Blue Beetle is in development, with Xolo Maridueña confirmed to reprise his role. The series will build upon the character’s live-action debut but tell its own story within the DCU continuity.

Mister Miracle (Release Date TBA)

An adult animated series based on Tom King’s acclaimed comic book run has been greenlit. The show will follow the escape artist Scott Free / Mister Miracle and his warrior wife Big Barda as their home worlds of Apokolips and New Genesis go to war.

Creature Commandos (Season 2) (Release Date TBA)

The animated series that helped launch the new DCU is returning for a second season! This show follows Amanda Waller’s new black-ops team of monsters. The voice cast includes Frank Grillo and Indira Varma, and the series is a key part of the universe’s continuity, directly connecting to events in Peacemaker and Superman.

A Connected Universe Awaits

The sheer scale and diversity of the DC Studios slate is a testament to its “character-first” philosophy. By carefully interweaving stories across film and television—from the cosmic horror of Swamp Thing to the buddy-cop dynamic of Lanterns and the youthful energy of Teen Titans—Gunn, Safran, and their teams are building a living, breathing universe. This is a world where the Sgt. Rock’s past, the Authority’s extreme methods, and Supergirl’s trauma all have a place, converging into a single, unforgettable saga. The DCU is not just being rebuilt; it’s being reimagined for a new generation, and the journey is just beginning.
