The wait is almost over.
For fans who’ve been anxiously staring into the interdimensional void since the cliffhanger finale of Season 4, the final confrontation is about to begin. The first half of the final season, Stranger Things Season 5: Volume 1, is landing on Netflix this week, and the stakes for the Hawkins crew—and the entire world—have never been higher.
Get your Dungeons & Dragons dice ready, because we’re about to find out exactly when you can start your binge-watch and join Eleven, Mike, Will, and the whole party for the epic showdown against Vecna.
When Does Season 5 Officially Drop?
In a surprise move, Netflix is treating the beginning of the end like a major event, dropping Volume 1 in the evening for North American viewers, unlike their usual midnight PT releases. This means for many, the new episodes will arrive just in time for a late-night session or a Thanksgiving Eve kick-off!
The first four episodes of Stranger Things 5 will be available for streaming globally on Wednesday, November 26.

What to Expect
The town of Hawkins is a literal wasteland, scarred by the four massive rifts Vecna created in his quest to collapse the boundaries between our reality and the terrifying Upside Down.
We know the core heroes—Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Will (Noah Schnapp), Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), and Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin)—are finally back together. They’re joined by the essential “adults” like Hopper (David Harbour) and Joyce (Winona Ryder), and the fan-favorite teen squad: Nancy (Natalia Dyer), Jonathan (Charlie Heaton), Robin (Maya Hawke), and our beloved single-dad-of-the-group, Steve (Joe Keery).
And yes, even though we are all still mourning the legendary Eddie Munson (Joseph Quinn), the fight isn’t over. Max (Sadie Sink) remains in a critical coma, and if the trailers are any indication, the Hawkins Memorial Hospital is definitely not safe. Our heroes are looking at a final, devastating battle against the Upside Down necromancer, Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower), who is now stronger and scarier than ever. The final season promises to bring the story “full circle,” particularly for Will Byers and his deep, tragic connection to the Upside Down.
