The news dropped via Star Wars’ official social media, alongside a stunning 50th-anniversary poster. “Star Wars: A New Hope returns to theaters April 2027 to celebrate 50 years of a galaxy far, far away,” the announcement declared.

Disney also confirmed in the press release that the theatrical run will honor May the 4th (Star Wars Day), though the theatrical run will be limited. If you want to experience A New Hope on the big screen, don’t wait—this is a rare opportunity!
